I adore this Dior dress, which must date back from the 50’s. It does present an inconvenient though: once you slip it on, impossible to breathe (but honestly who needs to breathe, it’s so overrated).
Indeed, this sublime Dior dress has a waist ribbon placed inside the dress to make the waist slimmer.
That famous waist band, which can be found on any dress form back then.
That famous waist band, so discreet, so innocent-looking, is solidly sewn inside the dress and it is gruesomly tight. Once the ribbon is tightly fastened, you will start very mixed feelings about it (if you can still feel anything else than a feeling of suffocation).
The effect on the silhouet is stunning. The waist is daintily enhanced, thus amplifying the game of proportions between the bust and the skirt.
Other than that, if you want to breathe… Try as much as you can.
