I have always liked the Flore en l’Ile but especially so recently, given that a friend of mine took over the establishment a few months ago. The place is so deliciously retro and so perfectly Parisian that I half-expect Simone de Beauvoir to walk in at any moment.
I love the view on Notre-Dame during the calm hours of the day, when noise recedes and the Ile Saint Louis reveals its true, historical Parisian nature and its village-like atmosphere.
The Flore en L’Ile is totally Parisian and nearly timeless. It fully deserved an outfit that the elegant women from the fifties wouldn’t have shied away from.
