MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL

When you have a public account on Instagram and that you wish to reach a maximum number of people, there are two possible postures.

The first one is to consider that you influence others: the idea is therefore to increase your number of followers whilst only following a few, often institutional or celebrities accounts.

The underlying message, which is rather egotistic, is that you do influence but are in no way influenced.

You don’t answer comments, you limit interaction with others.
Modern version of “mirror, mirror on the wall”, Instagram is full of these accounts.

The second posture is to consider that you are part of a community, just like everyone else, and that your supposed influence is more of a source of inspiration.

Following and liking a decent number of people is essential to build and evolve in a vibrant community.

Well… I wish to build and live in a vibrant community (how surprising 😉)
