THE IMPORTANCE OF BREAKING SOME RULES

“Navy and black should never, ever be worn together” is a rule I have heard on countless occasions.

As if the flames of hell awaited those who broke this sacrosanct rule.

Or at least that’s the idea I have of my life after death when I see the horrified, eyes-about-to-pop expression that creeps onto the faces of so many women (yes, men really don’t give a damn and they’re right) when I touch upon the possibility of maybe, perhaps, on a misunderstanding, inadvertently, someday wearing these two colors together.

Well, I am apparently destined to go to hell seeing as I find the alliance of black and navy absolutely gorgeous on this skirt, and I also love wearing this skirt with a navy, silk coat.

Honestly though, I find going to hell for all eternity because of a skirt to be slightly… comical.
