Sometimes… Sometimes I am in a hardcore mood. If you know what I mean.
If you don’t, now you do:
Careful, it’s not a bad mood (I’m very rarely in a bad mood) but rather a state of mind that leaves room for no concessions, no comprise. On such days, I like to coordinate my outfit with my mood.
(No, don’t picture me dressed like a death metal singer).
It often gives me a severe, rigid appearance that hints at the fact that no begin of discussion will be tolerated. On such days, I walk like a warrior to dramatic music (Ascenceur pour l’Echafaud de Miles Davis, Chinatown ou L.A. Confidential de Jerry Goldsmith. All I need is a whisky at 10pm and I’m in a film noir).
That’s what clothes are for: they allow you to express the mood, the energy of the day, whilst maintaining a personal style. The choice of clothing is as telling (in my opinion) as the way you live, act, carry yourself on a daily basis, given that it is an expression of values, vibes and opinions.
Though I hate fashion because of its cyclical, consumerist, passive nature, I love how style can truly reflect an individual’s personality. With style, you become the actor of your day, without having to submit yourself to the latest trend. (I can guarantee you I lived that film noir day to the fullest. But you’d probably already guessed that from the radiant joy that emanates from my face ;-)).
