And here we are, in this haven of peace and nature smack in the center of Paris, Palais Royal.
This is where you will find Didier Ludot, the antiquarian of fashion.
His namesake shop at the Palais Royal is the ultimate destination for museum-quality vintage haute couture. Legend has it that Ludot was so touched by Yves Saint Laurent’s 1940-inspired collection in 1971 that he started going to the flea markets and buying war-era frocks to sold them in the now famous retail space located Galerie Montpensier, Palais Royal.
Didier Ludot also released his own LBD collections. I was lucky enough to find a few ones, including this one hightlighted by different accessories.
To quote Vogue, the LBD is “a sort of uniform for all women of taste”. Could not agree more.
