THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PICTURE – PART 29

Some photo shoots organized for this website have been improbable. I have been photographed on a sailboat, on a motor boat, on a boat (we can thank the photographer who also knows how to row), on the sea (in the sea too), on the Seine, on bridges, on a bar (yes yes, not “in a bar”), on a disused railway line, on balconies, on building roofs.

In front of fireplaces, in front of pianos, sitting on tables, on stairs, on many stairs, I love stairs.

Dressed up, very dressed up, casually dressed up, not dressed up at all.

In French cancan attire, in an 18th century dress.

I have navigated in countless parks, in a park full of rats (which at first I took for rabbits), in a bus from the 30s, in a sidecar and of course in the street, in all the streets (and even in the middle of the Champs-Elysées avenue, timing the traffic lights so as not to die crushed).

Day and night. At noon, at midnight, at 5 o’clock in the morning.

I have made round trips of a few hours to Deauville, Trouville, La Rochelle and Courchevel with a photographer crazy enough to accompany me there, even if it meant driving back to Paris at 2 a.m.

It was therefore logical to add a carousel to this list of unlikely places. The following photos were meant to illustrate an article on the fairground world of the film “Nightmare Alley”, so I had set my sights on the Parc Monceau merry-go-round.

You will appreciate my lost look due to the hilarious but nevertheless complicit gaze of the mothers who had a good reason to be seated around the merry-go-round. At each turn, they waved hello to their children – and to me too. It was very nice. Even though I wondered what I was doing there.

You will also appreciate the giant rabbit (and we come back to rabbits) on which I was sitting, which is – I find – still a little creepy.

My photographer Cedric cautiously stayed around the merry-go-round, pretended not to know me (while photographing me) and spent his time complaining to the mothers present about these influencers in the wild. He knows how much I hate that denomination for myself.

To stay dignified, I tried the Queen of England’s salute, without success.

In a nutshell, a long moment of solitude on my gigantic creepy rabbit.
